A black she cat was in her den looking through her herbs in the back of the den. NightMist took out bundles of leafs and other herbs. She looked over to her apprentice, Maplepaw and signaled for her to come over and help.
She Picked up a few leaves of marigold and dusted them off with her paw placeing them on the ground next to all the other herbs.

A small she-cat shuffled over to her mentor, unlike most Earthclan cats she was small due to a poor start of life as she was born in a harsh leaf bare. Maplepaw the medicine cat apprentice looked over her mentors shoulder, Her gentle green eyes glowing in the dim light of the medicine cat den. “Yes, Nightmist?” She murmured quietly ready to help with whatever was needed from her mentor. She was happy to be the medicine cat apprentice since she liked helping others and it’s just right for her disability. Which is she gets tired easily.

NightMist looked down at the many piles of leafs and other herbs. "Please go through and see which of these we need more of MaplePaw,"She pointed to a pile of herbs that were separate from the rest. "When you are done we will go get more." She mewed. She bent down after getting out a few more herbs and started going through her pile.

Maplepaw nodded and stood in front of the pile of herbs, she inhaled their earthy scent, she loved that smell. She sat down and looked at the herbs, she recongnized Catmint, Poppy, Borage, Thyme and Burdock. She sorted the five herbs into seperate piles easily and nosed them over, some of the Thyme had gone bad so she put that in a different pile to be thrown out, a few poppy seeds had rotted so she put them in the same pile too. Everything else looked good. They really needed to collect more Thyme and Poppy, they could do with more borage but it could wait since they had no queens. "I think we need to collect more poppy and Thyme, some of it went bad so i had to throw most of it out." she meowed quietly to her mentor who had finished her pile.

NightMist nodded as she finished and looked at the bad pile. There was quite a lot. All the Yew had gone rotten, The honey had hardened and half of the burdock was rotten as well as part of the Bramble twigs.
They needed quiet a bit. She looked at MaplePaw and stood up "Lets go gather those herbs,"She mewed and got up to exit the den.

Maplepaw nodded following her mentor out into the camp and paused to smell the foresty air, she smelled plentyful prey in the breeze and the slight smell of wildflowers mingled in. She stumbled after her mentor, noticing she was falling behind a little. She picked up the pace scattering leaves everywhere. She had not been a apprentice long so she did not know all the places they would find the herbs. were they all found in Earthclan territory or did they have to cross borders. She shrugged, other clans were not allowed to attack medicine cats from different clans. Maplepaw followed Nightmist knowing that the older medicine cat would know what she was doing.
