The sky was a dark gray off to the north of the fire clan camp. The clouds billowed up like a rabbits tail going higher and higher in to the sky. BirdStar sat in the middle of the clearing looking up at the sky. maybe it will rain she thought happily. Rain in Fireclan territory was unusual. The wind gave the scent of rain but BirdStar was sure that it would go away before it met the camp. The clouds got closer and the sound of thunder boomed and crash and the lightning flashed over head. Then the rain started. BirdStar lifted her head to feel the cool rain coming down as others came to enjoy the rain as well.

Blazepaw was walking to the fresh kill pile slowly then stiffened when a drop of rain fell onto his redish, ginger, brown forehead. It ran down his muzzle and he licked his cheeks and tasted it. He'd never seen this before... what was it again. "Rain." He murmurred quietly almost so quiet no one would have heard him. More rain drops fell on his pelt, he sat down near the fresh kill pile his hunger forgotten as he looked with his head tilted to one side at the sky. "Rain." He repeated not sure if he liked it of not, it made his pelt feel heavier on his little body yet cooled him off nicely.

BirdStar sighed happily when the rain hit her face. It had been hot up to that day and the rain was unexpected but felt wonderful. She smiled at Blazepaw as he experienced the rain. All of a sudden she thought of her first time feeling the rain, and her mother and father had been there as well watching her leap at the rain as she cooled her tiny kit body. That was the last memory that she had of them and it was nice to think of them in a happy moment.

A silver tabby she-cat stretched out in the rain, as if trying to soak it all into her pelt. Sighing with content, RiverPaw pushed herself up into a sitting position, striking blue eyes twinkling, even though it was dark overhead. She had been waiting for rain for a long, long time. She shook out her pelt, shaking blue water drops to the ground, before sitting back down and stretching out her limbs. "Rain. Finally." she murmured to herself.

Blazepaw looked at the other apprentice watching her stretch in the rain. It was nice that at least she was enjoying the rain, he got up and moved towards a more covered place where he would not get as wet, he settled in the enterance of the apprentice den where he kept pretty dry while still watching the rain splatter on the ground making dirt into mud, little puddles formed soon and the rain drops splashed into them swelling them even bigger. Blazepaw watched with silent intrest.

Firemask strode back into camp, carrying his catch. Well, it was more of a limp since he was dragging a rabbit with one paw, but nevertheless the orange tom made it to the growing freshkill pile and added his morning catch to it. Finally rid of his burden, Firemask looked up at the sky and was surprised to see rainclouds gathering. Even more surprised when a fat raindrop came and landed on his nose. He shook it off, but more raindrops fell at a heavier rate than before soon wetting his pelt. It was just so unusual for fireClan to have rain like this, so Firemask decided to charish the moment and lie out in the rain, the cool drops running through his hot pelt.

Blazepaw watched his mentor come into the camp, watching him lie out in the rain letting the rain drops cool his pelt from the heat of the day. He wondered why his mentor like the rain, maybe he was just more used to it then he was. After all he was older and more experienced either way Blazepaw doubted he would ever like rain.

Spotting his apprentice come back into camp, Firemask got up from his lounge and made his way over to Blazepaw. He stopped infront of the young cat and smiled at him. "Great job today Blazepaw." he praised his apprentice, "You must be tired and hungry though...how about you grab something from the freshkill pile and come eat with me." Firemask flicked the tom's ear with his tail and made his way over to the fully stocked pile of prey. Choosing a couple mice, Firemask carried them over to the outside of the warriors' den and lay down.

Blazepaw stared at his mentor with blank eyes, the only response he offered was a slow shrug of his shoulders, he sat wondering what to do now. He took it as more of an order then a suggestion so he got up and nosed through the big fresh kill pile, looking at his options. He chose a small vole, since he was never really hungry anymore and he was so small that he really did not need much to fuel his small body. He carried it to Firemask and stood a few tail lengths away before plopping down by his mentor silently. He took a bite of his measily mole and looked across the camp.

Firemask watched as his apprentice came over and sat beside him. Firemask took a chunk out of his first mouse and chewed it thoughtfully. Blazepaw had always been a good apprentice, even after his mother had died. He always listened to orders and tried at the tasks Firemask gave him. Blazepaw would not come out of his shell, even to his own mentor, but the young mentor was determined to do the best job he could with Blazepaw, and be there if Blazepaw ever needed him for anything. Firemask finished off his first mouse then looked at Blazepaw to try and get a response out of him, "So Blazepaw, I was thinking of trying some battle training tomorrow since we haven't tried that yet. Would you like that?" he asked. Waiting for his apprentice's response Firemask started chewing on his second mouse.

Blazepaw finished his vole quickly with a few swift gulps, he still felt hungry but he could not urge himself to get up and get something else from the pile. He ignored his hunger and sat straight up looking out at nothing in particular, it was a moment or two before he answered his waiting mentor, “That sounds fine.” Blazepaw answered still staring straight in front of him. His voice was even showing no emotion other then that it was fine with him. It was the usual answer though so his mentor should not be suprised with his I don't really care what you do with me responses.
